Post-Publication Discussion
Post-Publication Discussion
1. Policy Statement
AL MANAR: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Pendidikan Islam recognizes post-publication scholarly discussion as an important mechanism for strengthening academic dialogue, research transparency, and the reliability of published findings.
The journal encourages constructive, evidence-based discussion of published research in communication and Islamic education while maintaining scholarly integrity, professional respect, fairness, and editorial independence.
Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers and researchers to evaluate published arguments, examine research methods, clarify interpretations, and contribute to the continued development of scholarly knowledge.
2. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion
Post-publication discussion may address:
-
Interpretation and implications of published research findings in communication and Islamic education.
-
Methodological strengths, limitations, and the reliability of research procedures.
-
Theoretical arguments, conceptual frameworks, and developments in relevant scholarly fields.
-
Questions concerning research data, analytical procedures, source attribution, or reproducibility.
-
Substantive scholarly disagreements concerning communication practices, Islamic educational thought, da'wah, media, and related topics within the journal's scope.
-
Identifiable errors or credible concerns affecting research integrity, ethical compliance, or the reliability of published findings.
All discussions must be relevant to the published work and supported by appropriate scholarly reasoning, references, or other available evidence.
3. Submission of Comments and Concerns
Readers, researchers, authors, and other interested parties may submit scholarly comments, requests for clarification, or documented concerns through the journal's official contact page:
https://journal.staimsyk.ac.id/index.php/almanar/about/contact
Submissions should identify the relevant article, explain the issue clearly, and provide supporting references or evidence where appropriate.
Where concerns relate to research integrity, authorship, data accuracy, plagiarism, ethical compliance, or other possible publication misconduct, the submission should provide sufficient information to enable a preliminary editorial assessment.
The journal may consider confidential reports when sufficient information is provided to assess the concern. The identity and information of the parties involved will be handled in accordance with applicable confidentiality and publication-ethics requirements.
4. Editorial Assessment
The editorial office will assess submitted comments and concerns for relevance, scholarly substance, factual accuracy, fairness, and compliance with publication ethics.
The journal may request clarification, additional evidence, or an independent expert assessment before determining an appropriate response.
Submissions containing personal attacks, discriminatory statements, unsupported allegations, defamatory content, or inappropriate disclosure of confidential information will not be accepted for publication.
Editorial assessment must remain impartial and independent. The journal will distinguish between legitimate scholarly disagreement and concerns that require further investigation under its research-integrity procedures.
5. Author Responses
When a substantial question or concern relates to a published article, the editorial office may invite the original authors to provide a response, clarification, or additional supporting information.
The journal seeks to ensure that scholarly disagreements are evaluated fairly and that affected parties have a reasonable opportunity to respond.
Author responses should address the substance of the comments, provide relevant evidence where available, and maintain professional and respectful academic communication.
The editorial office may evaluate the response alongside the original submission, published article, reviewer reports where accessible and appropriate, and other relevant evidence before deciding on further action.
6. Publication of Scholarly Discussion
Substantive scholarly discussion may be considered for publication as correspondence, a commentary, an author response, or another clearly identified editorial format, subject to the journal's editorial standards and available publication arrangements.
Submissions selected for publication may undergo editorial assessment or external peer review, depending on their nature and scholarly significance.
The editorial office reserves the right to request revisions, moderate submissions, or decline publication when a submission does not meet the journal's requirements for scholarly relevance, evidence, clarity, fairness, or ethical conduct.
Publication of a comment or response does not automatically imply agreement or endorsement by the journal. The editorial team remains responsible for ensuring that published discussions meet appropriate academic and ethical standards.
7. Corrections and Research Integrity Concerns
When post-publication discussion identifies a material error or raises credible concerns about research integrity, the matter will be assessed under the journal's Corrections and Retractions Policy or Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy, as appropriate.
Depending on the evidence and its implications for the reliability of the published work, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction.
Editorial actions must be proportionate to the seriousness of the issue and supported by an appropriate assessment of the available evidence. Where technically feasible, published notices will be linked to the affected article to maintain transparency and preserve the scholarly record.
The journal will not treat unverified allegations as established misconduct and will provide affected parties with a fair opportunity to respond where appropriate.
8. Transparency and Scholarly Responsibility
Post-publication discussion in AL MANAR: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Pendidikan Islam is intended to promote responsible scholarly exchange rather than personal criticism or reputational harm.
The journal supports evidence-based disagreement, appropriate acknowledgment of scholarly contributions, respect for intellectual property, confidentiality where required, and transparent correction of the academic record.
Authors, readers, and other contributors are expected to communicate professionally, substantiate their claims, and respect the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved.
This policy should be read together with the journal's Publication Ethics, Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, and Corrections and Retractions Policy.
