AL MANAR: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Pendidikan Islam publishes scholarly manuscripts that contribute to theoretical, methodological, empirical, or practical developments in communication and Islamic education. The journal welcomes studies addressing Islamic communication, da'wah, media and digital communication, Islamic educational theories and practices, teaching and learning, educational management, and the relationship between Islam, communication, and contemporary social developments.

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles present new empirical findings derived from systematically conducted research relevant to communication and Islamic education.

The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies addressing issues such as Islamic communication practices, da'wah strategies, media representations of Islam, digital religious engagement, Islamic educational practices, teaching and learning processes, and the management and development of Islamic educational institutions.

Research articles should clearly present the research problem, objectives, theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology, findings, discussion, conclusions, and implications.

Authors must provide sufficient methodological information to enable critical evaluation of the research, including appropriate explanations of data collection, analysis, research ethics, and the limitations of the study.

2. Systematic Literature Reviews

Systematic Literature Reviews critically synthesize existing scholarly evidence to address clearly defined research questions within the fields of communication and Islamic education.

The journal welcomes reviews examining developments in Islamic communication, da'wah and media studies, digital communication, Islamic education, educational innovation, and related interdisciplinary topics.

Such manuscripts should describe transparent and reproducible procedures for literature identification, screening, selection, quality assessment where applicable, and synthesis. Authors should identify the sources and databases searched, explain the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and present the analytical approach used to synthesize the literature.

Reviews should provide meaningful theoretical, methodological, or practical contributions by identifying research trends, conceptual developments, methodological limitations, knowledge gaps, or directions for future research. Manuscripts that merely summarize previous publications without critical analysis or a clear scholarly contribution are not considered suitable.

3. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles

Conceptual and Theoretical Articles develop, critically examine, or reconstruct scholarly concepts, theoretical perspectives, analytical models, or frameworks relevant to communication and Islamic education.

The journal welcomes manuscripts that advance theoretical discussions of Islamic communication, da'wah, media and digital culture, Islamic educational thought, pedagogical approaches, educational leadership, and the interaction between Islamic values and contemporary communication or educational challenges.

These manuscripts must establish a clear scholarly problem, present systematic and coherent argumentation, engage critically with relevant literature, and demonstrate a substantive contribution to the development of knowledge in the journal's fields.

Conceptual articles should clarify their theoretical foundations and explain how the proposed arguments, models, or frameworks extend, challenge, or integrate existing scholarship. Descriptive essays, unsupported opinions, and manuscripts lacking a recognizable analytical framework or scholarly contribution are not considered suitable.
