Abstract

Abstract: Translation tools such as Google Translate and ChatGPT play a crucial role in facilitating cross-cultural communication. However, issues persist, including contextual inaccuracies and the inability to grasp the true intent of the text. This study compares Arabic-Indonesian translations using Google Translate and ChatGPT, focusing on accuracy and nuance. Employing a qualitative method, data from Al-Ahram’s website is analyzed for verb and noun sentences. The results demonstrate that ChatGPT outperforms Google Translate in terms of accuracy, leveraging modulation and amplification techniques to provide translations that align better with the intended meaning. Additional, ChatGPT exhibits superior syntactical and grammatical understanding, enhancing the overall quality of the translated output.
