Arabic holds a significant position in education and the intellectual development of the Muslim community in Indonesia. One effective approach in learning Arabic is through translation practices between Arabic and Indonesian. This article examines the concept of Arabic-Indonesian translation and its contribution to enhancing Arabic language education in formal educational settings. Using a qualitative method based on literature review, the discussion focuses on the role of translation in improving students’ language skills such as speaking, reading, and writing as well as the challenges involved in translating idioms, cultural expressions, and loanwords. The findings indicate that when applied methodically and contextually, translation can strengthen students’ linguistic competence while broadening their cultural understanding. Therefore, integrating translation practices into the curriculum is a strategic step toward developing comprehensive and relevant Arabic language learning.
