Abstract
This research aims to identify and analyze the problems of forming an Arabic language environment in Pondok MAN 1 Metro, with a focus on the use of Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) and dialectal variations in the educational context. The research method used is a qualitative approach, which allows researchers to gain an in-depth understanding of how Arabic is used, understood and taught in this educational environment. This research methodology involves collecting data through in-depth interviews with students and teachers of Pondok MAN 1 Metro, as well as participant observation to record language use practices in daily activities at school. The research sample was selected purposively to cover variations in the use of Arabic and different educational contexts in the Pondok MAN 1 Metro environment. The research sample consisted of students and teachers of Pondok MAN 1 Metro who were selected purposively to cover a variety of languages ??and educational experiences. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations, then analyzed to identify patterns in the use of Arabic in the educational environment. The research results show that there are significant challenges in integrating Modern Standard Arabic with local dialects in the learning process. Differences in understanding and use of language between Fusha and local dialects influence the effectiveness of Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools. The implication of these findings is the need to develop more inclusive education policies and more adaptive teaching strategies to increase Arabic language proficiency in formal education environments. Research suggestions focus on the need for training for teachers to integrate various varieties of Arabic, as well as developing a curriculum that is more flexible and responsive to the language needs of students at Pondok MAN 1 Metro.
