Islam dan Cinta Tanah Air (Telaah Pemikiran Pendidikan Nasionalisme K.H.R Asnawi)

Abstrak: Pendidikan nasionalisme memegang peranan penting dalam membangun kesadaran dan semangat cinta terhadap tanah air. Di Indonesia, dengan keragaman budaya, suku, agama, dan bahasa, penting untuk memperkuat ikatan nasional yang melintasi perbedaan tersebut. Dalam konteks ini, Islam sebagai agama mayoritas di Indonesia memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam membentuk sikap dan nilai-nilai kebangsaan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk melakukan telaah terhadap pemikiran pendidikan nasionalisme yang diusung oleh K.H.R Asnawi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah studi kepustakaan, dengan menggunakan sumber-sumber seperti buku, jurnal, disertasi, dan karya tulis lainnya. Ada dua metode yang digunakan oleh K.H.R Asnawi dalam pendidikan karakter nasionalisme. Pertama, melalui perlawanan langsung terhadap kolonialisme. Ia terlibat secara aktif dalam gerakan perlawanan terhadap penjajah. Kedua, melalui literasi dengan menggunakan lagu-lagu atau syair yang membangkitkan semangat nasionalisme dan juga mengajarkan nilai-nilai akhlak yang berguna dalam menjaga dan merawat kemerdekaan. Selain itu, K.H.R Asnawi juga memberikan kontribusi penting dalam bidang pendidikan dengan mendirikan Madrasah Qudsiyyah dan Pondok Pesantren Roudlotut Tholibin.

Abstract: Nationalism: education fosters patriotism. Strengthening national links across Indonesia's diverse cultures, ethnicities, faiths, and languages is crucial. Indonesia's majority religion, Islam, influences national ideals. K.H.R. Asnawi, an Indonesian academic who fought for and cared for independence, supported nationalist education. This essay employed library research to study K.H.R. Asnawi's nationalism and education ideas. K.H.R. Asnawi uses nationalism and character education approaches. There are two methods used by K.H.R. Asnawi in nationalism and character education. First, through direct resistance to colonialism. He was actively involved in the resistance movement against the colonialists. Second, through literacy, by using songs or poetry that evoke the spirit of nationalism and also teach moral values that are useful in maintaining and caring for independence. In addition, K.H.R. Asnawi also made an important contribution in the field of education by establishing Madrasah Qudsiyyah and Roudlotut Tholibin Islamic Boarding School.
