Analysis of Elementary School Students' Learning Motivation in the Learning Process

Learning motivation is an important factor influencing students' success in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the learning motivation of third-grade students at SD Negeri 12 Sapan, the strategies employed by teachers to enhance students' motivation, and the challenges encountered during implementation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subject was a third-grade teacher selected purposively due to their relevance to the study focus. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that students' learning motivation was influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors included health conditions, excessive gadget use, and psychological conditions caused by family issues. External factors included rewards, attractive learning media, family support, and a conducive school environment. Teachers implemented various strategies to improve students' learning motivation, such as integrating songs into learning activities, providing rewards, applying emotional approaches, and maintaining communication with parents. The challenges encountered included limited funding for rewards and differences in students' characteristics. This study highlights the important role of teachers as educators and motivators in supporting students' learning success.
