Peran Kepala Pondok Dalam Membangun Karakter Religius Santri Pondok Pesantren Darul ‘Ulum Seputih Banyak Lampung Tengah

Abstract : This study aims to examine the role of the head of the boarding school in building the religious character of students at the Darul 'Ulum Seputih Banyak Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews and observation and documentation. This study was conducted using a qualitative method because the research was naturalistic at the Darul 'Ulum Seputih Banyak Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung for two months. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the head of the boarding school plays an important role in building the religious character of students through coaching, supervision, and exemplary behavior. The head of the boarding school also acts as a role model and spiritual guide for students. This study focuses on how the head of the boarding school as the central leader carries out his duties in controlling the boarding school program and supervising and directing students in everyday life. With a comprehensive approach, this study tries to identify the challenges and processes that the head of the boarding school goes through in creating students who are not only knowledgeable, but also have a strong religious character, in accordance with Islamic principles. so that it can produce students who are ready to fight in society, who have a strong student soul. This research has implications for the importance of the role of Islamic boarding school leaders in building the religious character of students and developing the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools.
