Penerapan Metode Eksperimen Sederhana Pada Mata Pelajaran IPAS Materi Fotosintesis Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas IV SDNU Metro

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the application of simple experimental methods in the subject of IPAS photosynthesis material and identify the improvement of student learning outcomes through the application of these methods in class IV SDNU Metro. The facts in the field show that many students tend to be inactive in participating in the learning process. As students feel bored, they are cool with their own world, not paying attention to the teacher properly, so that the impact that occurs in the classroom becomes less effective. The research method used is quasi experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This design involves two groups: an experimental class (IV A) with 29 students and a control class (IV B) with 29 students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The results showed significant differences in pre-test and post-test scores between the experimental and control groups. Statistical analysis confirmed the significance of the difference with a t value of 32,470 and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), with an average difference of 22,138 and 12,724. The application of the experimental method creates a learning environment that supports the development of students' understanding, science process skills, and scientific mindset. This study confirms the effectiveness of the application of simple experimental methods in improving the learning outcomes of IPAS photosynthesis material in grade IV school students.
