Abstract: This research aims to explore the role of public relations educational communication as a public communication medium in the context of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The method used is qualitative research involving interviews with key informants from the Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo). The research results show that the communication strategies implemented, including the use of social media and face-to-face communication, succeeded in increasing public understanding of the stages and procedures of the Pilkada. Public relations educational communication is able to educate the public so that it can minimize fake news (hoaxes). The role of public relations must be responsive in managing all kinds of issues, including issues related to hoaxes. The dissemination of public relations education communication directly to the community is the development of a more effective and inclusive communication model and supports the democratic process in the region. Public relations educational communication helps people to change people's political attitudes and behavior. Based on the recapitulation results, it was found that the Pilkada results were won by the pair Teddy & Marjito who defeated the pair Yudi & Elita. Public relations educational communication as a public communication medium presents the recap so that the public can see the results of the election they chose and this strategy includes the use of various communication media, both traditional media such as radio and newspapers, as well as digital media such as official websites, social media, and internet-based applications.
