Kiai Dahlan's Reinterpretation of Tolerance Education

This research is based on the phenomenon of intolerance rooted in exclusive attitudes and weak contextual religious literacy. Tolerance education is one of the keys to building a harmonious social life amid the plurality of Indonesian society. This research uses a literature study method with hermeneutic analysis techniques to explore the meaning and messages contained in primary and secondary sources. The results show that Kia Dahlan's concept of tolerance education is built on three main principles: unity of heart, deliberation, and living happily together. It emphasizes a caring and inclusive attitude, respect for differences, and openness to criticism and dialogue. This research is expected to make a theoretical contribution to the development of tolerant and applicable Islamic education in the context of pluralistic Indonesia.
