Eksistensi Perempuan Oman Dalam Novel Sayyidat Al-Qamar Karya Jokha Al-Harsty Kajian Feminisme Eksistensialis Simone De Beauvoir

ABSTRACT
The issues faced by women have always been an intriguing topic that garners widespread attention. Discrimination and marginalization against women are no longer unfamiliar, both in real life and in the literary world. Based on this reality, this study aims to uncover the forms of social injustice and discrimination experienced by female characters in the novel Sayyidat Al-Qamar by Jokha Al-Harthy, as a reflection of women's issues in the real world. Furthermore, this research also highlights the various forms of resistance undertaken by female characters in their struggle for self-existence. This study uses the novel Sayyidat Al-Qamar as the primary data source, analyzed through Simone de Beauvoir existentialist feminist approach with a descriptive qualitative method. The results show that female characters in the novel experience various forms of social injustice, such as stereotypes that limit their mobility, subordination, and objectification. The forms of resistance they employ to assert their existence include working, becoming intellectual agents, rejecting subordination, and actively participating in society. Thus, this research is expected to provide insight, especially for women, in their pursuit of existence and their roles in social life.
