Abstract

Abstract: Talking about curriculum design, it is generally formed based on 3 aspects; philosophical, sociological and psychological. However, in reality, relying only on these 3 aspects, the curriculum is felt to be experiencing spiritual drought, for this reason, a foundation originating from Islamic religious teachings in the form of the Al-Qur'an and Hadith is absolutely necessary in order to achieve the ultimate truth. So what would happen if these three aspects departed from the essence of the Al-Qur'an as the primary source of the Islamic religion? In this article we will explain how the Al-Qur'an can act as a basis for forming a curriculum, precisely based on Qs. Al-Rahman verses 1-4 and Qs. Al-A'raf verse 179. This article was written using a library study method sourced from various modern literature which was then integrated with an interpretive approach taken from the explanations of classical scholars. The results of this research show that the Al-Qur'an is very relevant to be used as a basis for curriculum formation in the contemporary era, which indicates that the Al-Qur'an is truly the main reference for Muslims that relevant for all times and places.
